Integrated MBBR Sewage Treatment Equipment
Integrated MBBR sewage treatment equipment
Integrated MBBR sewage treatment equipment is a new type of sewage treatment equipment, which integrates the moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) technology. Based on the introduction, digestion and absorption of relevant technologies, through technical integration innovation, the integrated sewage treatment equipment with independent intellectual property rights has been developed by closely combining production, education and research. For example, Shandong Liangcheng Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. has cooperated with many universities to develop such equipment.
1. Scope of application
Rural areas: Suitable for rural production and domestic sewage treatment, to solve the problem of scattered rural sewage discharge and difficult treatment1.
Urban communities: can be used for sewage treatment in urban residential communities to deal with domestic sewage generated in the community.
Public places: can also play a role in decentralized domestic sewage treatment scenes such as schools, hotels, scenic spots, and farmhouses.
2. Technical principle
The core is to directly add suspended fillers with a specific gravity close to water into the aeration tank as an active carrier of microorganisms. Relying on the aeration in the aeration tank and the lifting effect of the water flow in the fluidized state, the microorganisms are attached to the carrier, and the floating carrier moves freely in the reactor with the gyration and flipping of the mixed liquid, thereby achieving the purpose of sewage treatment. It is a process that combines the suspended growth activated sludge method and the attached growth biofilm method.
3. Equipment Features
(I) Advantages
Small footprint
Under the conditions of a biological filler filling rate of about 32% and the same pollution load, the MBBR moving bed biological treatment tank occupies about 30% - 50% of the tank volume of a conventional biological treatment tank (including anaerobic/anoxic/aerobic).
Large amount of active microorganisms
The carrier of the biofilm is mobile. Due to the shear force of the water and the friction generated by the movement of the carrier, the biofilm on the surface of the filler will naturally fall off, part of the sludge will flow out of the reactor with the effluent, and part of the sludge will remain in the reactor, playing the role of activated sludge. The sludge concentration is 5-10 times that of ordinary activated sludge, the purification function is significantly improved, the microbial phase is diversified, and the biological food chain is long. It will not cause blockage, no backwashing is required, and generally no reflux is required, and the head loss of the reactor is small.
Good denitrification capacity
Aerobic, anoxic and anaerobic environments can be formed on the filler, and nitrification and denitrification reactions can occur in one reactor, which has a good effect on the removal of ammonia nitrogen2.
Good effect of removing organic matter
The sludge concentration in the reactor is high, generally 5-10 times that of the ordinary activated sludge method, and can be as high as 30-40g/L.
Simple operation
The microorganisms are attached to the carrier and flow with the water, so the activated sludge is not allowed to flow back or circulate backwashing, and the carrier organisms are constantly falling off to avoid blockage; the organic load is high and the impact load resistance is strong, so the effluent water quality is stable; the head loss is small, the power consumption is low, and the operation and management are easy1.
(II) Limitations (relatively less mentioned, but may exist in reality)
There may be certain requirements for the influent water quality. If the influent water quality fluctuates too much or contains certain special pollutants, it may affect the treatment effect.
The operating effect of the equipment depends on the performance of the filler. If the filler is aged or damaged, it may need to be replaced, increasing the operating cost.
4. Application
Wide range of wastewater treatment
So far, it has been used to treat a variety of wastewater, including paper mill wastewater, cheese factory wastewater, refinery, slaughterhouse wastewater, newsprint production plant wastewater, etc., and has achieved good results. It is mainly used to remove organic matter and ammonia nitrogen in municipal sewage or industrial wastewater2.
Multiple process combination applications
The single MBBR process is composed of a single or multiple MBBRs connected in series or in parallel. It is mainly used for the construction of new urban sewage, industrial wastewater treatment plants and the upgrading of existing sewage treatment plants. Its purpose is to remove COD and BOD in wastewater, remove nitrogen and phosphorus, etc. Anaerobic MBBR can also be combined with aerobic MBBR to treat high-concentration organic wastewater and difficult-to-degrade wastewater, such as beet sugar wastewater. In areas that are sensitive to phosphorus in water, chemical dosing and coagulation and sedimentation equipment can be added after MBBR to achieve the purpose of removing phosphorus. It is also possible to connect three (or more) MBBRs in series, mainly for the removal of N from wastewater. According to the order of denitrification and nitrification, the MBBR denitrification process is divided into three forms: pre-denitrification, post-denitrification, and a combination of pre-denitrification and post-denitrification.
